 Wanhua PC expansion! 25% increase in capacity!
    On May 29, Wanhua Chemical Yantai Industrial Park polycarbonate (PC) capacity expansion project environmental impact report draft was released, PC total capacity expanded from 480,000 tons/year to 600,000 tons/year. Raw material and product warehouses, loading and unloading stations and other public auxiliary facilities, environmental protection facilities are based on the existing plant area of Wanhua Chemical.
Bisphenol A and other three major raw materials expanded production!
    The first and second phases of Wanhua Chemical's 200,000-ton/year PC project were completed in 2018 and 2021, respectively. In 2019, Wanhua Chemical invested and built an isopropylphenol-acetone-bisphenol A integration project in Yantai to supply raw materials for the PC project, which was completed and put into operation in January 2023.
Just this week, Wanhua Chemical announced the expansion of isopropylbenzene - phenolacetone - bisphenol A integrated device capacity, the latest expansion situation is as follows:
    The scale of isopropylbenzene plant increased from 530,000 tons/year to 681,920 tons/year;
    The scale of phenol-acetone plant increased from 650,000 tons/year to 780,000 tons/year;
    The scale of the bisphenol A plant was increased from 480,000 tons/year to 576,000 tons/year.
    With the rapid expansion of the market in recent years, the domestic PC production capacity has reached a high level, the supply side has been saturated, and the industry has entered the era of comprehensive excess. However, with the acceleration of the pace of technological innovation, continued focus on improving product quality and reducing production costs, superimposed upstream raw material prices fell, PC industry profits gradually improved.
